Native American Affairs Committee
The Native American Affairs is designed to bring together lodge dance, drum, and ceremonial teams to work together on outfitting, dances, staging, and presentation, and share and learn new ides. They also have the opportunity to be judged in a dance or ceremonial competitions or evaluations. The Native American Affairs committee is responsible for three large activities during the conclave: the Ceremonies evaluation, the Dance evaluation, and the Saturday Pow Wow. Ceremonies may be run for the Pre-Ordeal, Brotherhood, and Vigil ceremonies. The schedule and locations need to be coordinated prior to the weekend and published in the conclave booklet and Saturday afternoon Winds. Judges need to be recruited and briefed on the latest national standard for the competitions and evaluations. Awards must be acquired for all participants.
To review, the duties of the Native American Affairs Committee are:
1) Oversee and make sure that ceremonies/dance competitions and the Pow Wow run smoothly
2) Conduct Native American craft workshops, either during the afternoon or during training cells
3) Create a schedule of Native American events for the weekend
4) Promote Native American competitions for the upcoming conclave
5) Obtain and present awards of recognition for each activity
